The University Scholars Awards at Claremont School of Theology

The faculty and I are excited to announce a major new scholarship program:

The University Scholars Awards
at Claremont School of Theology

Thanks to a significant commitment by a friend of the School, The University Scholars Awards will provide up to 8 incoming students next fall with:

* 100 percent of tuition and fees
* an on-campus apartment (or off-campus equivalent)
* all course-required books
* a monthly stipend of $750 for 9 months ($6,750 annually)

Prospective students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher who complete an application for a masters program at Claremont by January 30 will be considered for the Awards. Finalists will then be invited to Claremont at the School's expense to interview for the Awards. (For full details about requirements and qualifications, please go to the Awards information page.)

You may be wondering why we named this program "The University Scholars Awards"?

Earlier this year, the Trustees and faculty articulated a new mission and vision for Claremont, expressing the intent to transition into a graduate-level university focused on issues of religion, theology and ethics (that continues to include a school of theology and ministry). The University Scholars Awards program represents an important step toward realizing this vision.

If you are considering a graduate degree in theology or religion, now is the time to apply to Claremont. If you know someone considering graduate school in the fall, please forward a link to this page and encourage him or her to consider Claremont.

It's an exciting time to be in Claremont, so I appreciate your help in spreading the word!
